In September 2025, we had one of the most finest dinner in Italy and that’s this restaurant right at the corner of the quiet street that you must try. Uzeta serves one of the best lamp chops, anchovies pasta, panna cotta and creme brûlée that one mustn’t miss. The taste is indescribably outrageous. Kudos to the chefs! We sat outdoor and the night ambience and service simply fills the air of pleasant Sicilian welcome that one can’t deny. Well done Uzeta!

The food here was incredible from the Arancini with a wonderful meat filling along with the cheese to the Rabbit Ragu with Penne and Cartot sauce, it was all fantastic. Wish I could have tried more dishes. Next time definitely. There is also an extensive wine list by the bottle ranging from inexpensive to luxury prices. It was a well curated list and again, I wish I could have sampled more. Finally, the service was first class. My waiter was friendly, helpful with wine suggestions when I asked and most of all, the meal was well paced and I never felt rushed or waiting too long between courses. Highly recommend for anybody who enjoys good food and good wine.
I have never written a review before, but Francesco deserves an honorable mention. A couple months ago (yes, I'm a bit late) my wife and I were caught in a torrential downpour in Catania. Rain hadn't been predicted, so (being the nice guy I am) gave my jacket to my wife. Our hotel had suggested Uzeta. Although it wasn't the closest place to seek shelter from the rain and have dinner, I bought an umbrella (for 3 euro from a street vendor). To make a long story short (waiting on hold for 1/2 for a taxi only to be told none were available, etc..). We finally made it to Uzeta. Francesco couldn't have been a sweeter, kinder and hospitable host if he had tried. I was soaking wet, and he said there was a hair dryer in the women's bathroom. It was taking too long to dry my shirt, so Francesco gave me a staff shirt. I know, I should be telling you about the food, but I'll get to that. Honestly, how many places would be so welcoming to give you the shirt of his/her back? Francesco, I can't thank you enough! Everything we had ordered was presented beautifully, but more importantly, was delicious. Francesco was even kind enough to bring us a bottle of "reserved" oil that was pure heaven. Also, he gave us a min wine tasting experience that made it clear what "minerale" means in Sicilian wines. The "Arancino" was much more enjoyable than the typical ones found everywhere, and the stuffed anchovies were to die for. We had been exploring the east coast of Sicilia, and had eaten Tuna with caramelized red onions on numerous occasions (I guess it's a crowd favorite), but Uzeta's version was superior. Francesco also spoke English extremely well. Every restaurant nowadays seems to want to charge a fortune for food/service that doesn't deserve it. Uzeta offers high quality food and service at a price that would cost double in most big cities.
Beautiful atmosphere . Welcoming and quiet place on a lovely side street. The food was very tasty and the menu was interesting. There are gluten free alternatives, which was important for us. Portions on the smaller side, might need two courses or side dishes in order to feel satisfied. Staff is very helpful, competent and speaks many languages. (Very Good AC)
We got this recommended by some locals and it did not disappoint. We heard about this place by word of mouth and that they had the best arancini’s in town and boy it was amazing. All of the food was amazing and our waitress was super kind and patient with us. This is one of the few places that would make want to fly back to catania only to taste the food again. Definitely a must try if in town
Great food. Great wine. Great service. The lamb chops were to die for! The pasta dishes could have more flavour.
Best venue experience of my trip to Sicily bar far. While Catania was not my favourite city, my visit to Uzeta was magnificent. Starting with a negroni that was one of the best I’ve tasted, moving through to the glasses of wine which were better than any other bar by far. The food was incredible with nonna’s cabbage arancini the standout by a mile. Service was brilliant and personal and it felt like home
